I can't pull the shutter lever, and I can't press the shutter release. This happened last weekend but seemed to reset itself. Is there something I can do?
thanks,
James

Make sure the sd card is not on write protect. Somehow mine must have been tripped when installing it and that prevents the shutter from firing.

If you do have the card on write protect when you switch the camera on the number of shots remaining dial only just moves off the zero point. Also as soon as you press the shutter release the activity LED near the cocking leaver will keep flashing.

checked the SD card, and tried a two others. No Joy, is there some manual release?

Did you try switching the camera off, removing the battery, putting the battery back in, and switching on the camera?

Yes I did try pulling the battery, actually I charged it, in case the battery meter wasn't reading correctly. I'm feeling pretty bummed since I have only had the camera for 28 days.
Any other input would be great.

This sounds like a case of returning the camera to the dealer and ask for either a refund or a repair.

Solved.
I unscrewed the shutter release button and was able to push the pin to release the shutter. I found that the actually button had rotated and was resting on a metal piece so it couldn't be depressed. I rotated the piece tested, and I held it in place while tightening the collar around the button. The problem is solved!
