Shutter release lock on M2?

A shutter release lock creates a problem instead of solving it. Imagine that you can take the shot of your life, your decisive moment ... you press the button, but holy sh*t, nothing happens: shutter release lock!

Erik.

Not a good example because it happened to me many times that I raised the camera, pressed the button, and nothing happened: shutter already fired by accident.

Absolutely the same misfortune it is (at least for someone who likes to have the shutter on his camera cocked), because in no way it'd be quicker to recock the shutter than turning off the shutter release lock.

That being said, I still prefer my M2 not to have a release lock.

The best thing to do is to develope the habit of folding out the transport lever when bringing the camera to the eye. Then you feel instantly if the camera is tensioned or not. If the camera is not tensioned, it takes only a fraction of a second to tension it. Then you can shoot your picture.

For people who have a difficulty with this, I suggest that they read "Zen and the art of archery", by Eugen Herrigel. This was the favorite book of Henri Cartier-Bresson.
