So, After doing a lot of research on line about this Sigma's new camera I decided to call Sigma Corp out of New York.
The person in public realtions told me that the project has been delayed to due to "technical refinements"
and that the launch date has been pushed back indefinitely.
Oh well, I had such high hopes for the DP-1 and my summer vacation photos.

Well, better "refinements" before than recalls after.

I stopped being interested in the DP-1 after I saw the photo of its demonstration, where, once the camera was turned on, the lens SLOOOOWLY extended and the camera took a few seconds to get ready...
Edit: of course, i mean a VIDEO of the demonstration...

...aperture ring, shutter dial. a complete black camera without silver buttons. that will make the trick.

I hope they "refine" the f4.0 lens into at least a 2.8.

how about refining the lens into a f1.5 sonnar and make the sensor useable at ISO 1600

I wasn't very impressed with the files I have seen from the SD14 that have been posted on the net. The 5D's were much sharper in comparison. The Foveon chip technology has been around for quite some time. While there have been high hopes, it just keeps falling short.

Maybe someone at Sigma is reading what is being posted on sites like RFF, and can't make heads or tails about it..sherm said:The person in public realtions told me that the project has been delayed to due to "technical refinements"and that the launch date has been pushed back indefinitely.
