Received a notification today that Amazon.com has shipped me a Sigma DP1 today.
I ordered it several months ago.
Despite the fact that I received an e-mail notification the day before that the shipment was going to be delayed until maybe July, the camera shipped within a couple of days of the estimate at the time of the order.
I look forward to seeing how this camera measures up. It will (probably) replace my GR-D.

First impressions out of the box:
-- big and heavy (for a P&S); difficult to use with one hand
-- camera SHREAKS for a viewfinder
-- lens grows to be quite enormous when extended
Unless I have a change of heart, I'm probably not going to keep it.

That seems an inevitable by-product of the big sensor: big lens. So Sigma picked f4.0 to keep the camera a reasonable size, it would seem. There's no escapin' the laws of physics.
