Is there any news on Sigma's reaction to all those new micro 4/3 cameras?

Will there be any DP3 with interchangable lenses?

yeah that is right micro 4/3 has smaller sensor size than sigma. I am sorry I am not experienced on digital stuff.

But I have been wishing to have a sigma DP and I think It would be a great move towards micro 4/3s if they produce a Sigma DP3!! :)

M4/3 isn't going anywhere but forward.
The IQ is really nice. The interchangeable mount is nice.

The DP's have a very unique way of recording and the images are very organic.
I wouldn't think that they would compete with the m4/3 but some shooters think different.

Each system has it's niche. My Pen is just a lovely photographic experience, all the time.
Hopefully a DP3 will give it a run for the money.
But I don't think so.....

Having used the G1 for almost a year, I think the u4/3 format represents a well-placed niche between image quality and usefully wide DOF; that is, it's large enough to provide excellent image quality, still able to provide some shallow DOF with lenses like the 20-1.7, yet still provide wide enough DOF when you really want it (like fast-capture street action, where too-shallow DOF is really a problem against fast-focusing).

I remember years ago, before the trend of shallow DOF became all the craze, when maximum DOF was the what the majority of 35mm film shooters were after. You'd hear criticism "otherwise would have been a great shot, but a bit blurry on the background there", just like today we hear pixel peepers criticise folks about film grain or sensor noise.

u4/3 offers greater image quality than P&S cameras, interchangeable lenses, yet small enough sensors for when you want wide DOF. I think it's a well-thought-out format.
