It would have been interesting if Sigma had gone down the same route as the GXR Ricoh with interchangable lens sensor combinations!
Nice idea but Ricoh gxr has an Achilles heel on terms of flash card write speed. It takes about maybe slightly less than 2 seconds to write a raw file.. I think it is a pipeline issue..
- flush data from sensor into raw output format
- stage data across the hardware interface between the lensor to the camera body
- stage output to actual flash.
This is w/ a 12mp sensor.. Think how bad w/ 45+ mb raw file. Of course Sigma or Ricoh can learn and improve the design.. But maybe Ricoh decided was not wrth the return in investment.
On the other hand I would love to c a csc version of a dp camera. Sigma already has three lenses for the csc market that everyone likes.. 19, 30 and 60 all f2.8. Easy for them to design more for that market if they really wanted to.

I can c it now Keith w/ one around his neck, one cross chest left to right and the other cross shoulder right to left (bandoleer style)

Apart from 'want' and the effects of 'GAS', would anyone really use all 3 regularly?
Some people like a 28-80mm zoom lens. I can see why someone could feel the need for all three.

I've already figured that I can partition my Domke F5-XB to fit all three very neatly!

They send orders air express delivered to your door so it may even get here tomorrow ... but next week will be fine.
What viewfinders are people using on the 3M .... I note that they dont offer a hood for this model?

Bugger ... our Oz Voigtlander distributor doesn't stock the 75mm finder.
I may be stuck with that freight from the US ... I've sent an email querying it!

Well-known
I'd like to see a super wide, say 21mm equivalent DP, I've got the DP2M and the quality is amazing, if they could keep that same standard of lens, but in a super wide, even if it was quite a slow lens, I think it would do very well.

A 21f4 or a 24f2.8 (fov) would be quite nice. In dp or SA mount for sd

Och !!!
Used ovf for the old rf would be another way if u can't find a cv locally.
- Retina had a 35/80
- Nikon rf and canon had a 80 and they both had a variable focal length ovf.
U could DIY a 75 by using a 35 or 50 and masking out for 75.

I could use the turret finder but by the time you close that thing down to 75mm it starts to get pretty damned small and distant!

I checked with Stephen and that's for express post and the rates have increased recently apparently ... so the 75mm finder is on the way.

"All DP's in your bag...you deserve 'em! With hoods and finders, for sure - you'll save on unified battery!"
I'd go for a Merril...but right now I'm waiting a bit. But I'm glad of what Sigma is doing.

I think I've wiped the idea of the SD1M ... too much money by the time you get lenses and absolutely no advantage image wise.
I may look for a used DP1M in the future but for now this combination will keep me very content.
I love Al Pacino by the way ... great actor!
