I just installed the new SPP 5.4.0 after an uninstall of the previous instance as requested by Sigma.
This SW is a lot better than it is given credit for, IMHO. It exists to process X3F files and it does so in a remarkably simple, clean, effective manner.
You need horsepower to run these files -if you have that, there is really little to complain about. Should you find that not to be the case -it offers a blisteringly simple batch conversion to TIFF.
I couldn't be happier with pretty much everything since first picking a Sigma up in late July of this year. It has been as profound an experience as any in my hobby.

The BATCH always existed, but it is not in the editing pane, rather the select pane up front.
Just select the images for export, select the format and any setting(s), et voila!

Thanks for that. Never tried looking at the export option for this.

In my case, I only shoot X3F.
If the files are needed in other formats, this really is your only option. I say that having experimented around with claimed converters. None of them worked well -some not at all! I am still holding out hope that Adobe will step up!

Ok, I can already tell that this program will only be a TIFF converter for me. Its just too minimal for me compared to LR.

Minimal, yes. But its simplicity is what endears it to me.
You are correct though -any heavy lifting must be done elsewhere.
Adobe and Sigma need to have a few cocktails...

Molotov cocktails thrown at each other?

I wish aperture and LR supported sigma raw directly.

Frankly, I think we'll see something happen here. Maybe by the end of the year??? Well, I can hope! Sigma really needs to do this. It is the missing link in their program's improvement.
Either Sigma adds a DNG option in the SPP converter or they provide Adobe access to their code.
