Poor Kodak.
When I was a senior in high school (1955), a 94-year-old woman who had an estate up east of town (Morgan Hill, CA) died. Her name was Gertrude Strong Achilles, and she was a daughter of Henry Alva Strong, first president of E. Kodak and the man who helped good ol' George get the company going. Needless to say, all involved eventually became multi-millionaires. Mrs. Achilles supposedly left an estate of some $8 million when she died, and in those days, that was mucho bread. Back at the time, the house she lived in could be seen over half the valley.
How Mrs. Achilles ever happened on a small CA town, and her sister in Hawaii, ought to make an interesting story. Maybe the weather in Rochester was too cold. However, the two of them practically funded the Strong Memorial Hospital at the the Univ. of Rochester.
EK stock must have been worth something in those days. Now?????
