(silly?) question on tape

Since I'm a bit concerned about the brand logo on my recently bought silver M4 I play with the thought to use silver duct tape to make it more stealthy.
But there's the point of removing it without residua of the tape's glue.

Please enlighten me with your experience with tape.

Use gaffer's tape, not duct tape. No residue.

Tesa makes gaffer's tape, but I do not know if that is what you have:

Cloth tape is what I call duct tape and will usually leave a sticky residue. On my black cameras I use Nitto electrical insulation tape. Its really thin, stretchy and pliable and doesn't leave residue. Im sure you can buy silver electrical tape.

Gewebeband is not OK; the adhesive may turn in a permanent sticking mess.

That looks like duct tape to me. I imagine it will leave a residue. Gaffer's tape is also a cloth tape, but it specifically says it will not leave a residue.

They should sell it in any camera shop, or a theatrical supply shop, or anything like that. I have no idea what they call it in German, but it's the same stuff.
