I took my time looking and found one on Ebay with a Buy Now price of $148. With the Live Search 30% cash back program - it wound up costing me $103. Looks brand new. Plus it came with Photo Equip's Uni-Grip. Viewfinder is way brighter than my Canon 7. Miss the 85/100/135 frame lines of the Canon - but heck, I won't argue with the price.
The R is ltm which means you can use relatively inexpensive FSU lenses. An R with a J-8 would be a wonderful combination. You can't go wide with FSU on the Bessa's due to the second shutter curtain.
At $150 it should be a keeper.
I have a black Bessa R which has been great. While I have a IIIC and a IIIF, I tend to take the R out because it has the frame lines and metering built in. That's a great price. I paid more for my gently used R about two years ago.
