Silver lens hood & 'Safari' body

Missed out on the 28 Summilux silver edition. So I contacted Dave Elwell with our friends in Jersey to ask if a green enameled hood could be had, but no luck. However, he was able to get a silver hood from Wetzlar--great guy, responds quickly and will have a definitive answer on any part you're looking for. Maybe a bit much going on but I do like the silver.

(Wish there were a Safari version of the 28 Summilux)

Just spray this hood with matching aerosol paint tin. Those leicas hoods ain't any different from fixie frames.

The paint on the camera is baked enamel, different from the painted cameras. A cheap spray won't do.

Did consider it but a 2nd hand Summilux is about the same price as the Safari Summicron, with the former the more modern and capable optic. Can't sneeze at the extra stop too.
