Hey everyone,

Has anyone tried to use Silverfast on Mac OS Lion? I have read mixed reports on compatibility.

Cheers,
Seb

P.S. I realise I can just not upgrade/buy a pc :D

I noticed yesterday, that the Silverfast Launcher didn't work. I haven't tried starting silverfast without the launcher. Maybe that would work.
The new silverfast is expected in August.

Two show-stoppers - no Lion! :(

I'm going to keep my 2010 Mac-Mini around, running 10.6, just so I can run Nikon Scan (which is an old PPC program) as well as Silverfast 6.6.

I do need a new laptop though, and will probably buy a new Macbook Air. That, of course, will come with Lion.

Silverfast

Silverfast does not run under Lion. This is annoying as there was a misleading statement by Silverfast in March this year stating that Silverfast will support Lion and will be available for Lion without limits:

The latest announcement of Silverfast reveals that there will be an new version #8 available in August. I fear it will come wiht a huge price tag. That is why I canceled the installation of Lion and now prepare a bootable Leopard external drive to keep Silverfast alive.

Regards,
Steve

Thanks for your replies guys.

It's funny, the longer I use Apple gear the worse compatibility issues get. It should be the other way around. Too bad it's such a fantastic OS to use...
