Simlar (Elmar copy) repair question

I need to remove the lens barrel from the focus mount to replace the felt since this lens is loose and slides out when retracted.

I removed the screw behind the front ring but when I unscrew it the aperture lever gets in the way.

How can I get this ring off without damaging the lever?
