So maybe you've read on the internet that it's not possible to mount a Polaroid 405 back vertically in a Sinar F camera. Well, sort of - it's possible if you flip the rear standard around backwards. Not awkward at all, eh? well it works, and here's some proof -

All of these are Sinar F2 + Polaroid 405 + FP-100c + Tessar 105 f/3,5 (from a 6x9 Linhof)
Kind of a weird combo, but I love it.
You know how the story goes that Oskar Barnack designed the Leica after he got tired of lugging around his camera while hiking up the mountains? well, you feel his pain if you try to move my Sinar kit more than 50 m. In fact, lifting the car up a bunch of stairs to get it into the atrium took less effort...

One more from the Sinar + Tessar:
Datsun 240z at MCO autocross... it`s got a RB25 engine swapped into it, if that means anything to you.
The Tessar was stolen off of a baby Linhof press camera and it's my 'standard' lens on the Sinar. The 210 is a little too long; the Tessar is like a 35 ish field of view. F/3,5 is really nice too - easy to focus even in pretty dim light. It's got plenty of coverage too - I think it'll do a bit over 1cm of shift before vignetting kicks in. Whatever it is, it's good enough, but it's obvious when I'm an idiot and shift the rear standard the wrong direction to compensate for the Polaroid 405's offset frame.
Oh, and it was a good thing that my Sinar came with a bag bellows - the lenses I have are 65, 75, 105, 185 and 210mm (65, 105 and 185 from the Linhof, 75mm 1,9 oscilloscope lens and 210 from the kit) so I'm almost always too short for the regular bellows.
and Sinar + uh... sinaron 210 5,6. I think? It's last year's car, in any case.
I know it's all race car stuff but hey, that's just what my life's been consumed by recently... and on that note, there's alot of polaroid stuff on my tumblr, here - from the Polaroid 250 at first, then alot of Hasselblad stuff after I was randomly given a polaroid back, and now some Sinar stuff. I think there's only one digital photo on the tumblr- the rest are film, with maybe 30% of it instant. Like this, from a couple weeks ago. (wind tunnel model set-up). The hasselblad is especially exposure-finnicky with FP-3000b, but that's a story I'll save for another thread...

resume an old thread after a year...?
The 405 doesn't fit on the Sinar without removing this piece of trim from the right hand side (rear view, camera facing forwards) of the rear standard. The trim comes off with two screws, so it's not a permanent change. The trim has a big key slot and I have no idea what it's for.
And to mount the 405 vertically you have to flip the rear standard around since otherwise you wouldn't be able to remove the darkslide.
pro tip if you have a Sinar - you can clip another bellows into the back of the rear standard to use as a shade for the groundglass. I've had this camera for more than 3 years and I learned about this like two days ago. Bloody brilliant.
