Thanks folks :)

See y'all in 2 weeks (unless I log on whilst there).

David, Allupurinol in hand, though I wouldn't normally take it but I'd make an exception for this trip.

Customs and the USPS folks aren't in a hurry.:(
Plus, holiday mail is starting to go into gear.

Neither has reached me yet.

Thanks G'man. :) Relax Johnny..... it might take 14 days. But i have faith that it will reach G'man. It just takes time. All in good time. :D

Ah ok, meanwhile I'll busy myself with the last 6 shots on my FP4 roll then. I'll have to start practising loading the film in the bag soon! *excited* hah

Really love how compact and unobtrusive the Contax T3 is.

Hi Guys, just a quick question....can anyone recommend a reputable seller in Hong Kong who would have stock of the Ricoh GR Digital? What's the best price in $HKD???

Completely OT I know, but I was hoping some people here might be regular buyers in H.K. I have heard that the most reliable general photo shops are Wing Shing Photo Supplies and Man Shing Photo in Mong Kok, would people recommend one over the other?

OK well feel free to leave a message here or PM me, Cheers from down South! :D

Hi Akalai,

i'm not familiar with the HK shops but i have come across a website that might be useful. This is it.

Some of the others might chip in with some ideas. :)

Greetings from the land of the big cloud. Getting ready to leave Wanaka for Te Anau this morning. Been a wet stay here in Wanaka so far but we were blessed with great weather before that. Hope it improves as we head further south.

Plenty of photo opportunities but only shot off 2 rolls so far, the rest on digital :( Guess the 10 rolls I brought are going to be plenty.

Bye for now :)

Back from field camp! Exhausting, but rather fun, overall. Okay, bedtime! :)

And I am just back from Exercise Wallaby in Australia, two long field camps in all!

Glad that you are enjoying your NS. Once in a life-time thingy.

I was there a couple of years back. During my NS. I might be going there again in a couple of years from now... I kinda like the place. It's really cold there and during the first couple of days there, we had no hot water for bathing.. so you can imagine bathing in 10 deg water..

I showered in 10+ deg water the first day too. Nice experience, learned the real effects of a "cold shower". :D

Very warm during the daytime when I'm there, cold at night. Liked the place too. Brought my Nikon FM3A, 28/2.8 AIS and a Sigma 70-300 /4-5.6 APO (bought just before I leave Singapore). So much dust that the Sigma felt rough now. The label on the shutter speed dial on the FM3A dropped off, maybe because of the dryness and the constant rubbing in my bag. The 28 still felt perfect. But all the stuffs still work nicely without any babying. Known of two digicams that died without any abuse. No worries for dust on sensor too, but my viewfinder now looks terrible.

I would bet a good rangefinder would be even better, but then again, I'm too chicken to bring my M6.

The RFF hats some of you ordered are already in. Tim and Stephen, you guys can pick yours up anytime from Nov 20-23, I'll be going for a 2.5 week reservist stint after that.

David, you want me to send yours up to KL for you? I have a friend leaving for KL this week, he lives in Ampang if you want to arrange to pick up from him.

Hi Terence

Welcome back. Hope you have lots of photos to share.(OT) When you were away, I send in my R3A to Steven Lee for the minor adjustment I spoke about. He done a very good job and the focusing alignment is perfect now.

Sounds good Alvin, hope you put a test roll through it to make sure it's a-ok. I just finished scanning my rolls from NZ, will see about putting some up in a bit.
