Hi,
I just don't believe this but - thinking someone might add to the bidding frenzy - I waited until it was sold.

I saw a well done but obvious fake Leica I go for big money on ebay, but this one is just sort of silly.

I don't understand it. I've seen it over and over again in the last couple of months that really ugly cheap fake-Leicas fetch really high prices on eBay, even if stated that it's a fake (and sometimes not even functional).
Sometimes they go for more then nice looking genuine Leicas.
It seems like there must be some collectors collecting the most ugly Leica fakes

To each their own, but I think the phrase "A fool and his money are soon parted" is applicable here.

Dear Keith,Ah, the urine etched brass finish!
Well, you've heard of taking the p1ss... (I think that expression is known on the wrong side of the pond too).
Cheers,

Maybe there's a contest going on for the most unlikely fake Leica, and bidders were trying to be contenders? The winner will probably be something like a gold-plated, cardboard-lizard-skinned FED 4.
