... my most recent trip was to the west-coast of Hokkaido. No mountains but swampland, dunes and wide beaches. Usually, a very strong wind from the Japan sea hits this area but this time it was very calm and felt a little unreal. What amazes me most are the clouds and the light around sun-set.
I brought my Leica M6TTL (which is now on its way to his new owner), the Super-Angulon-M 21/3.4, 90mm Summicron-M pre-ASPH, and the Noctilux. Film was Fuji's ACROS100 (developed in HC-110, 1:50) and TREBI100C color-slide film.
This is the island Rishiri, located western of Hokkaido:
The beach is full of flotsam, mostly wood and some trees:
During the last two hours before sunset, the light was amazing:
After sunset, time for a fast lens:

I have a bias for BW, too but think that the color adds something in case of a sunset. Cropping in # 3 ... Good advice ! The foreground looks a little bit empty.

cam, thank you ! You are right, #1 and #2 were taken with the SA, #3 and #4 with the 90mm Summicron-M and #5 is self-explanatory ...

and thank you for getting back to me. (i do apologise for asking, but it's the only way i'll learn.)
i quite possibly like the last shot, but the colour distracts and muddies it, imo. or perhaps it's just the small JPEG that makes me say this. some images just need to seen big to fully appreciate them

second one is my favourite, although the light 2 hrs before sunset was indeed great
fuji acros is an amazing film. I just discovered by print ing real large from 35mm...smooth and sharp..even scanned with a v700. I can only imagine hwo it could be if enlarged optically in a wet darkroom...
