Since I keep finding these monstrosities, I thought it best to start a catch-all thread.

Up first, is this little oddity.

Cut Away "Leica"

First up, it's not a Leica by any stretch of the imagination. It does raise some interesting questions, though. Like how did it get in it's present shape? Was it a display model or did someone take a Dremel to it? We may never know....

Not on a camera...so far I've never had a light-leak on one. Luck maybe, who knows. I do have several cameras yet to try with film though, maybe I shouldn't speak too soon!

Actually there are indeed a collectors who collect specifically this kind of cameras.
In German they are called "Schnittmodelle" and Leica 2dummies" of that kind are very much in demand among them.
I even saw people payinga fortune for oversize Leica-presentation dummies.......
