I was wondering how many of the 10,000 registered members are 'active'. If you go to the member list there are many people who signed up and quickly became inactive. I understand that they may still drop by but they have not logged in .
Would moderators, Jorge or the new bartender be able to answer this?

Kim actually did some math and research and found that if you look at the members list you will find 8710 members. Then he looked further and found,
"Order by number of posts. There are 291 pages of members. By page 101, the post count is 4, by 145, or half way, it is 1. By page 161 it is 0. In others words over 40% of our current membership hasn't posted."
That said, we are a very knowledgeable community and a vast resource regarding all issues RF. I am sure there are those picking up a magazine, or seeing a mention of Leica/Contax..... cameras, running to Google to learn more and being pointed this way. That they think enough to register is a positive statement.

60% active members (posted at least once). The list says 8,738 members on 292 pages. So I figue that is about 5,250 active members (unless that 1 post was a long time ago).
That is a lot of members not on the Members List.

Anyone who has signed up for the forum at some time will be counted among the 10,000. The figure of 8,738 is the total number whose menbership is still active and can post. One of the main reasons for the difference is the spammers. They number in the 10k but not in the other figure as they have been banned and can no longer post.
