Slide Duping Problem with Fuji X Cameras

So how are you connecting the camera and slide on a single tube? That's what I've been trying to do, with no success with any of the devices I've tried.
Starting with the camera I'm adapting Fuji X-T3 camera body, Fuji-Nikon adapter, Nikon PK-12 extension tube, Micro-Nikkor 2.8/55mm, another distance-tube with E52-thread on both ends, Nikon ES-1 or ES-2 (I own both). So everything is screwed and bayonetted together as a one-pice arrangement.

It is easier to comprehend when shown in a picture:

And that's it! The spirit-level just stuck itself to the hotshoe at some point and is of no special use here. You can use a variety of lightsources, the closer to daylight, the better. Flash works just fine. No need for contraptions like tripod or copy-stand. I'm using this in my living-room on the coffee-table and can put everything away in a few seconds. As I don't have a dedicated man-cave for such tasks, this is a big plus.

Dear skahde,

That's similar to my set up with a full frame Nikon and the Nikon 60mm f2.8 AF-D macro. I don't need an extension tube between the lens and the body but I do need the extenders between the lens and the negative carrier to meet the minimum focus distance of the lens. For many but not all macro lenses there is a chart detailing which of the adapter tubes are needed for various macro lenses. Like you, I use on camera flash and just shoot pointing at an off-white colored wall in the house.

That is a lovely setup, but involves more money than I want to spend. I will keep on looking for a copy stand, and if I can't find one at a price I want to pay I will go the inverted tripod route. I have a Minolta-Dimage 5400 which does an impeccable job, but it is so slooooow.

Dear Dave,

The JJC adapter set up cost nearly as much as the Nikon 60mm f2.8 macro lens, $ 99.00 vs $ 149.00. I did get the fancy adapter set up with the lighting set up but I've just used the camera and a flash. I'm strictly a used buyer and had been using a Nikon D700 that I bought for $ 200.00. I traded it and got more than I paid for it and bought a D750 for $ 200.00 difference so I still only have about $ 400.00 in the whole set up.

I'm not looking to produce prints in large sizes. I lack the space for a darkroom, but if I can shoot a roll of 35mm B&W film, develop it at home, scan with the JJC and invert the negatives in Light room my needs are met. The set up is far more capable than my talent level requires and with care will last me a good long time.
