Hi Folks,
I've been scanning BW for a while now with my Epson 750, but would like to add color. I'm wondering about the differences. I tried one roll of Kodak NC160 and found it tough to get the color balanced well. I assume I'll get it eventually, but I'm wondering whether the whole analog to digital route is easier by just shooting slide film. I understand the differences in exposure latitude with slide v. negatives.
Will slide film be easier for scanning and a better workflow? I'd like to do mostly portrait but some landscape too.

It's easier in the sense that you have a reference of what the color 'should be like' since you can look at the slide on a light table. Also, grain is typically finer on slide materials.
In every other sense, I think negative is easier. Better dynamic range and more flexibility. You just need to be comfortable in making some judgement calls in how you want the final color to be.

Slides are easier to sort and find.
Negs are easier to expose and process.
