slim or std filter for 25mm Biogon?

I have a Zeiss 25mm/2.8 Biogon on the way. I am planning to purchase a high quality multicoated UV filter (46mm) to act as protection. Should any filter be a SLIM type versus a standard size to avoid vignetting on this wide angle? Does anyone with experience with this lens care to comment? Thanks.

i think mine has a b+w mrc uv filter on it, normal not slim.
seems to work ok.

it's a very sharp lens and seems easier to use than a 28 for some odd reason.

and I have a standard B+W MRC UV filter (55mm) on a Leica 24/2.8 and no problems either. I think the standard thickness should be OK since your diameter is 46mm.

Thanks fellas. I wonder at which focal length does a slim filter become necessary?

It depends on the lens design. If u are using the original ZM hoods should be not problem as the hood does not sit on the filter.

I have the SLR 25mm distagon. Strange enough the lens was designed to be used without filter even with the original hood.

Also the 18mm distagon for SLR, with normal filter u will get dark corners.

Many of the 28-80 range of zooms also has this problem at 28mm setting, depending on what type of hoods I am using.
