My poor brother was going to do this exact same thing, until he found Slinkachu had beat him to the punch.
Looks like an excellent book. I might buy a copy for my bro to rub it in

Tell him to do it. The stuff you linked was pretty routine.

Yes. Tell him to go for it. I've lost count of the number of Barbie exhibitions I've seen -- but the one at this year's Rencontres in Arles was easily the best.

I have to say I think that stuff is pretty nondescript - the only thing of mild interest is that he leaves the little people behind when he's done.
I'm sure there's plenty of scope to execute a much better version of this idea.
Cheers,

Oh, I shouldn't say that my bro is going to give up entirely. We're planning on getting together and doing a series about the poverty and street life of GI Joe, who was unable to find work after getting home from the war. Same with the defeated Cobra soldiers.
Should be good ;-)

The exhibition in Arles considered the possibility that some of these boy dolls are not as straight as they seem.

The super dolphie is fully articulated, giving it (them?) a full range of gesture and body language.

whoa... a simple post and so many responses and links. My apologies for not doing the search first, that was stupid of me. Thanks for all the pointers, though!

You got so many responses because of the shot w/ the topless wahine. Always good for the 'ol ratings.

Ambitious, but rubbish
Yeah, My friend did a whole project with toy soldiers way back in high school, when EVERYONE shot film.

David Levinthal is really the best of this bunch, I think probably by a wide margin. But I like that little book the OP refers to--the good bits are the shots where the camera pulls back and you see how unbelievably tiny the figures are against the hugeness of the world.

Wow, that Levinthal stuff is great! Thanks for the link
