Canada, eh.
Is it just me or is the RFF site slow for anyone else? It began last night, about 28 hours ago for me. All other internet sites load quickly but RFF.com is as slow as Pan F. I've tries deleting internet temp files and cookies to start fresh, and obviously since last night the computer has been rebooted several times. No problems detected by McAfee virus check.

I figure that it is either the routing that the internet is using to connect me to RFF site, or Joe has put a hex on my RFF login for teasing him with the "i agree with frank" quote in my signature. (Chris's fault)

Joe, this is freaky: all day long the RFF site has been slow for me, until I went to read your last post, then suddenly it's like it came unlocked and is back to normal speed!

that's odd.. the site seemed to double in speed about a day ago.. right after we voted on Most and Least Popular Members

oops.. I wasn't supposed to mention that to you, Frank.. nevermind!

RFF has been sluggish lately for me too, Frank. Maybe the Internet is jammed up on the Toronto feeder lanes ...

Gene

It's all use US NHL fans desperate for Hockey news.

Wait, that can't be it. There's only about four us left. 🙄

Uh, Go Canes?

Chris, as reprehensible as post padding is, I almost wish that were the case. This slow RFF connection really sucks for me. Joe obviously doesn't mind it however. Gene, it is good to hear that the problem is more general than a worm or trojan planted in just my computer by Joe. Capt'n, I'm a big hockey fan too! (I hate Bettman.) Brett....

This aftrenoon, just before I had to leave for work, this place got really, really slow to load.(about 2pm est or so) Seems fine now,Frank.

Brett, you're out of the club now, sorry.

frank, there is nothing to mind.
my connection and speer seems to be fine.

i have in the past had painfully slow connections so i know your pain.
and as far as messin' with your 'puter, i just ain't that smart.

joe

It's still the same, a few days later. All other internet sites load quickly as normal except RFF. It takes one or two full minutes to load and one or two full minutes to change screens once I'm in. Maybe this is a sign that I'm here too much/long.

Frank, since you are on to this improving your internet speed thing, have you run any anti-spyware programs?

An anti-virus program would not effectively clear spyware out of the system. And spyware programs run in the background by opening programs which one is not aware of or enabling pop-ups to appear. They also slow down the speed of your computer and eat up bandwidth space. The worst is coolwebsearch (CWS). Those are really nasty buggers!
Now here's the gory details. It slows your speed down to a crawl, then it cuts you off from the net. And when one attempts to kill it, it interwines with your operating system.

I use anti-spyware programs like spysweeper, spybot and ad aware. This is on top of programs like window washer from webroot which clears out my internet temporary files.
