SLR 35 1.4 lens users - what's your favorite?

If (and I emphasize if since I have no horse in this race) you're interested in a big old Nikkor 35 1.4, I have been trying to help a friend of my brother liquidate his Nikon gear, and his 35 is listed under Lenses in my rff ads.

Nikkor-N 35mm f1.4 (early, nine bladed iris) wide open. Agfa APX 100. Again, take Ken Rockwell's ramblings with a pinch of salt. This is an excellent lens, at least my copy is...

I don't own the Nikkor 35 1.4 G but understand it's very good as is the Sigma but I have no first hand experience with either.

I've owned several systems with 35 1.4 lenses. Probably the best one I've owned is the Canon 35 1.4L. It was even very good wide open on both digital and film.

I had a Rollei 3003 system years ago with a 35 1.4 Distagon. Wideopen it was nothing great, just OK.

I currently have a Nikkor 35 1.4 AIS and is the second one I've had. It's certainly usable wide open but had a dreamy look which can be good or bad. In real shooting it's not a problem for the kind of work I do but might bother some. At f2 is very good and at 2.8 is really good.

The Nikkor 35 f2 is a very nice lens and especially nice on film. I have one in the classifieds for sale at the moment. I shoot under very poor light and bought the 1.4 otherwise I'd keep the f2. I also have a 1st version 2.8 that I picked up new for $35. I never knew how good this lens is till I bought this one. I'm amazed!

Thanks, appreciate the heads up
I do prefer the AI and AIS lenses
