Technique does come into it. Making sure that when its your turn, you swing the hardest part of your conker into the softest of the opponent. Stewart hasn´t stated who gets first swing, but I voted F-1 none the less.

personally I think strap lugs are crucial, are the canon’s riveted?

I watch Top Gear religiously, not only is it funny as hell and very creative, the photography done in it is great learning material.

Hmm...are any cameras actually going to be harmed in this little exercise? 😉

And, yes, the F-1 would positively atomize that Exacta, though it might lose a bit of paint in the process. (And, you could pick it up afterward and photograph the Exacta's remains.)
