SLR Conker knockout The Grand Final

Ladiiiieeeees and gentlemen ... welccccoooooome to inaugural RFF world Conker knockout championship I give you ... in the bluuuuue corner ... weighing in at 1lb 7oz ... the plucky Olympus OMmmm1

And in the red corner .... weighing in at 4lb 6oz the miiiighty Nikon F3 ...

ding, ding ... round one

but then, who would have expected a then light-heavyweight Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) to take the mighty Sonny Liston in 64 ...

In the movie Kelly's Hero's. good ol Odd Ball and his 1 weird Sherman tank destroyed the 2 supposedly superior Tiger Tanks...he just shoots em in the arse :D

not to mention Rocky Balboa

the OM is only 3 points down at the mo, 10-7 in the first round

I'd still rather a F1 but failing to get the best, I'll take the runner up F3.

Like the biblical story of David and Goliath: the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
This is conkers. The bigger they are, the harder they hit.

If I want a high-quality picture-taking instrument I'd pick either. If I need a war-hammer, it's the F3 every time. ;)

Since my favourite didn't make it, the F1 against the F3 ought to have been a good match, I voted the F3. not just because its bigger, but more importantly (when it comes to conkers) it has thicker skin!

Still, that OM should have had at least a Motor Drive 2 attached to be a fair matchup with an F3 and MD4. Add the 250 exposure back and the OM would have a fighting chance. ;)

I reckon the F3 would have a fighting chance of stopping anything up to and including a .458 Winchester Magnum. :D

sorry just a toy, Holland & Holland make real men's guns

:D

While I love Nikons, have to admit I voted for the OM-1. If it was an OM-2, would have gone Nikon, but it's a manual thing. If it was a Nikon F or F2, would have gone Nikon.
