SLR lenses on A7R II?

How are the corners with SLR wides on the A7R II? Since I have an A6300 infrastructure (batteries, chargers, audio adapters, Metz flash, TechArt), I was thinking of adding an A7R II to run SLR lenses at full frame. Bad idea? The idea of getting my 57/1.2 Hexanon onto a full-frame, AF body is intriguing. But I also have a bunch of wides for Konica and Nikon.

I understand that M lenses are something of a crapshoot, depending on how retrofocal they are.

A friend recently bought an A7R II and borrowed a number of M42 and Minolta lenses from me. He's had no issues at all with a 35mm Flektogon, 50mm Zeiss Ultron and 58mm Helios.

any wides, including SLR lenses, I've tried on my A7R have been largely disappointing in the corner department. Nikon 35mm 1.4 ais is plain nasty smearing. Voigtlander 40 SLII a bit better. The Contax Zeiss 28 I use is actually good, maybe vignettes quite a bit wide open. Leica 50 summicron-R is great.

I have obtained the sharpest results ever with the Sony-Minolta EA4 (not sure of the name) AF adapter on my A7R and the Minolta AF 50 1,4.
I made a test comparing with other lens, like the Summicron 50 2 and the sharpest results were obtained with the Minolta.
However, although I have tried the ZM 35 2 with nice results, I never tried so far SLR wide angle lens (I have both a Minolta 24 and a 28)

I also have a number of other famous and well reputed SLR wide-angle lenses, but so far I have had no incentive to try
Besides the A7R is by now permanently mounted on my scan with digital setup

I shoot a Tamron Adaptall 17mm 3.5 on the Sony A7.

No corner issue whatsoever.

All other Canon FD lenses shown below are also stellar on the A7. No need for shake reduction of newer bodies for me with the fast glass I have for it either...

Killer kit. I’ve always been more or less a Nikon shooter. BUT! Man would I love a T90 and 20-35/2.8 FD-L.

Also to stay OT, I’ve used a slew of Nikon primes on the Sony A7 with great results. 28/2.0 50/1.4 35/2.0 35/1.4 85/1.4. Minolta 28-70/2.8D was a stellar match but stupid large. Adapted a few LTM lenses as well only 50’s tho and always with fine (if not a tad soft) results.

I haven't had any corner problems with SLR lenses on the A7RII. That includes the Flektogon 35/2.8 in Exakta mount, Canon FD 24/2.8, Vivitar 35/1.9 in MD mount, and a few others.

Older slr wides (wider than 28mm) will not be as sharp in corners as modern lenses, but quality will vary by lens. I have tried some older canon and olympus 24mm lenses that were very acceptable. This web site has done lots of tests on Sony equipment: https://phillipreeve.net/blog/

I have had no corner problems with the 25mm Flektogon, the 28mm AR Skoparex QBM, a 20mm Vivitar, Nikkor 24mm, the only lens that has shown any vignetting at all has been a 35mm Auto Takumar, but this lens vignettes on film, too.
