Who, having plugged good SLR wide-angle lenses into an M typ 240 or 246, has come to the conclusion from optical performance that the only real edge native M lenses have is RF (as opposed to EVF or zone) focusing?

Who, having plugged good SLR wide-angle lenses into an M typ 240 or 246, has come to the conclusion from optical performance that the only real edge native M lenses have is RF (as opposed to EVF or zone) focusing?

Not I. The Elmar-M 24/3.8 ASPH easily outperforms any of the Elmarit-R 19, 24, and Summicron-R 35 lenses, as well as the Nikkor 28/2 AI, 18/3.5 AI-S, and 35 AF-D. So does my 1972 Summilux 35 v2. And none of those SLR lenses is anything but premium class.

Easier focusing wides with the RF. Also much smaller in size. And yes, to me there's not much difference besides those. The Nikkor 28/2.8 AI-S performs on the same level with my M-Elmarit 28/2.8 ASPH.
