Small bag for X100 with lens hood attached

I have a Fuji X100 and I am wondering what woild be the best choice for a small bag to put the X100 in that is fitted with the factory lenshood. So far the Domke F-5XA looks oknin any color but I am hoping itnis not to big a bag. If anyone could suggest I thank you in advance. I just need something to protect it on the plane and in the car that looks cool and is not very big but I don't want a tight fit either so it's to hard to yank it out.

My lens hood is on the way, but no camera. That is the bag that I intend to use. It is a really nice small bag. I have the F-5XA,B&C. The A is great with a small camera. It can fit two rangefinders with small lenses.

I'm also interested in the Small Hadley Shoulder Bag. It looks like a step up from the Domke. I have a Billingham bag from 1982 that looks almost new. Expensive, but a great value.

Thinktank Retrospective 5, perhaps? I'm eyeing this one - but I think it'll be about the same size as my existing Artist & Artisan DCAM-7200, so I may not wind up with one myself.

I'm really after something that doesn't look like a camera bag, but will hold the X100 and a spare battery, an iPad from time to time, and my sunglasses - and not much else. Not sure what that's going to turn out to be, though...

😎I still haven't bought a bag yet for my X100. My lens hood isn't in yet either. The bag will have to hold the X100 with adaptor ring, filter and hood attached. To me less is more I carry around a Nikon DSLR all day for work so when I go on holidays the smaller the camera the better. I can't believe how long it's tanking to find a small bag or pouch. I'm still considering the Domke F-5XA, Billingham Stowaway Polo, Billingham Digital Hadley, Fogg Xylophone (too pricey), Crumpler 2 Million Dollar Home or a Crumpler Haven insert so you can chuck your X100 in any non-camera bag you like. Wotancraft bags are nice as well but quite pricey as well.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with a Domke Gripper 1 inch camera strap in black with quick release as well.

I would go for a Billigham stowaway in khaki colour (my preference) But there are a few colour and size options. However all are only large enough for a rangefinder camera and a few small accessories. Just right for a day bag.

I use a Maxpedition M-4 waistpack. Main pocket has a pullout, drawstring rain cover, and the front pocket is just large enough to hold a thin wallet, card reader, and EF-20 flash unit.

The Crumpler 1 Million Dollar Home is just big enough for the camera with hood and lens cap along with extra batteries and cards. Get the 2 Million Dollar Home if you want extra room. Comes in color combos and all black. Really nicely made. Good protection.

Hey - I just bought the 2 million for mine yesterday. I was tossing up between the 1 & 2. Opted for 2 million plus room. (Waiting for the leather case...) I also have the 3 million as a light dslr bag. Agree they're great. Good value considering the quality I reckon.

I finally went with the National Geographic A2200 Africa Series Small Holster Case. I just about went with the Crumpler 2 Million Dollar bag.
I also chose a Domke 1" Gripper Camera Strap with Swivel Quick Release (Black). My adapter ring and lens hood still have not come in. I did pick up a B&W 49mm Ultraviolet (UV) Filter for when my adaptor ring comes in. I am going to leave the filter and hood on the camera all the time. The X100 will fit in the National Geographic A2200 Africa Series Small Holster Case with the hood on. I also received a Domke 11x11" Color Coded Protective Wrap (Black) and a 15x15 wrap as well. I should be all last to go now. Going to a U2 concert on Sunday. If the rain holds off I'll take the X100.

I just carry my X100 in my jacket pocket (it helps it is a Scottevest with many, many pockets), but when I go out on wekends with my M9 + 60mm Summilux ASPH, I carry them in a Tumi Alpha Bravo Beale mini-messenger, with room to spare for an iPad:

I like smaller protective cases that are understated yet functional. The M-Rock 647 Niagara bag works well and affords various attachments. It holds the X100 with lens hood/adapter in a vertical mode for easy withdrawal.

I've actually found a Fossil bag that suits me perfectly - holds an X100 with the lens hood mounted, a pair of sunglasses, headphones, extra stuff like batteries and notebooks, plus has an outside pocket that's perfect for the iPad when I decide to bring that as well.

It's not padded like a camera bag, but I've put a small pad at the bottom that cushions the camera when I put it down; that's all I really need in any case, I think. Better that it doesn't look like a camera bag, carries everything I was wanting it to, and looks good (to me). So, I'm happy!

p.s. I did see the Retrospective 5 in Toronto when I was over there, and while it was a really nicely made little camera bag that ticked all the right boxes, there was still something inherently camera-baggish about it which meant it was effectively the same as my A&A bag, which I already have. I wanted something that didn't look like it had a camera in it.

I have a bag from the Terraclime series from Lowepro.
Not overpadded, simple, made from cyclepet (recycled pet bottles) and the terraclime 50 that I got fits the X100 with the hood on perfectly.

Very happy with my old Domke F5XB. Fits all I need nice and snug-like - with X100 in length ways, one side partitioned for filters and the other an accessories pouch with spare batteries and cards.
....and the instruction book tucked in the front for ready-reference :blush:
