Small bag recommendations

I'm glad to hear that (Turtle, Deniz)... I agree: at least a few bags are a good idea... (Unless you shoot everything with the same gear, but doing that is a bit narrow minded...) Sometimes I go out with one camera and no bag, but sometimes with one camera and bag, or two, or three or four cameras, and different gear require different bags... Some sessions with Hasselblad and digital require two bags if done outdoors...

If there's no "best camera for any situation", there's no "best bag for any situation"...

Cheers,

Juan

bare bones bag x 2 - my go-to bags on foot and bike for a body, lens or two, and meter. have a courier ware bag for when i've need more size, but it doesn't see much use.

Okay well.. first I'm a girl, so bags can be purses or whatever but the principle is the same for guys, messenger bags or a small backpack. It does not have to be a camera bag and better won't reveal you have expensive gear in it in neon lights. If you are worried about your stuff knocking around you can use padded lens wraps or depending on the size of your bag use an insert.

I have used a cloth grocery bag.. a purse.. and now a leather messenger bag. It varies depending on what I want to carry. The more I carry the heavier it gets so I am TRYING to learn how to pack light. My tendency is three cameras and they generally aren't pocket sized. Usually one is around my neck, whichever I am using, the others stowed.

Thanks for the replies everyone! (and sorry this got moved, I thought this was M related, as that's what I'm carrying in it)

I agree, all theses bags look like the kinds of camera bag looking bags I'm trying to avoid - however, by checking some of them out I did discover that Billingham makes inserts that I could drop snuggly into my leather messenger bag, keeping the kit safe and to hand while bein totally removable

As for cutting down my kit - that IS cut down! I'll often have at least one Polaroid with me too. The M6, CL and LCA all have different films in them - a Colour, a B&W and redscaled film in the Lomo. I'm less for swapping lenses and more for pulling out the body i want that has the lens already on it.

That said, a 12mm or 15mm is next on my list, we'll see if that gets swapped onto existing bodies or stays on my MDa...

Thanks again :)

If you want something exclusive, you can go to a local saddlery. They built everything for your special wishes with best quality and pure leather.

I have seen two cases from saddleries. Only very heavy leather. Pretty cool.

I use any bag with DIY insert made from large envelope with bubble wrap and some more bubble wrap. But I met PJ that used gas mask bag and some rags for his 2x Contax G2 set. And it was more than 10 years ago, when prices were High.
