Hey guys, the last rolls I developed show a small black thing on the photos near the film border between picture and sprocket holes. It appears on both, APX100 and Tri-X. The used lens is a Zeiss ZM 35/2 on an Leica M4 body. The thing appears in the upper right border area:

What could that be?

Looks like the shadow of something between the lens and the frame. Probably a bit of fluff, or broken film, stuck just in front of the frame on the bottom left side so that it is harder to see ??

Next time the camera is empty pull the lens off open the back and frie the shutter on "Bulb"...look inside and see if you see anything...it should be in the lower left side if looking from the rear...it could have been a piece of old foam...sometimes these things show up for a roll or two...hopefully you'll find something...

Then it's inside the camera close to the film plane near the bottom rails. Put the shutter on "B" and look through the camera if you see something.

Looks like a filmchip stuck in the lower rail. Check it next time you reload and use a pair of fine tweezer to remove it. If you cant see it - dry fire the camera as sometimes these chips go for a ride in the curtain track and you have to entice it to show itself.
