I’m looking for a small metal sphere. This is for an aperture lenses ring.

Do you know what size of sphere you need? If it's a ball bearing used for clickstop detents, you might be able to get one of the right size from Micro-Tools:

For larger sizes, try online hardware emporium McMaster-Carr:

Type the word "ball" into the search box on the left side of the page, and you'll see listings for bearing balls in aluminum bronze, steel, and stainless steel, as well as other sorts of balls made of various materials.
