How does it do with exposure? I use zuiko lenses on canon DSLRs but I find I constantly need to adjust exposure the more I close (or open) the aperture.

Hi Pan, I treat it as a manual camera, deciding which aperture I'll use then setting the shutter speed according to a metered reading or 'Sunny 16'. Initially I tried using it in aperture priority mode but maybe I hadn't thought it through and got some bad exposures. This works fine for me.

Thanks for your reply. I have the same problem with you - i have also resulted in manual explosure - it was a bit of hit and miss in aperture priority.

A nice little combo. Can't get autofocus to work though. 🙂...

Never thought I'd see a Pentax M42 lens on an EOS body...

However, for those who may actually have problems: one of my 500N's has an autofocus problem when all three autofocus points are enabled. When I choose to enable only the central autofocus point, all is good.

I was only joking about lack of autofocus, Pál_K, as you probably guessed. With your 500N with the autofocus problem, have you looked at the lens and body contacts? it could be that one or more are dirty and preventing normal autofocusing. In my experience with electronics its things like switches, plugs and contacts that give most trouble.

I can’t see how it is impossible to mount manual focusing lens via adapter on EF mount. I did it.
Regular Rebel is still better for it with focus confirmation chip on adapter.
The model you were asking had split mirror, it is darker in VF, plus stepped down lens aperture.

Yes, I then put a Leitax adapter and a chip and used it on the EOS5, but I found it confirmed focus a bit too generously. I now of course can't find the adapted 85mm Zeiss Sonnar having moved house, so that's the job for today!
