Sneaky (cat!)

And the crazy thing is that it is all an act, a manipulation tactic to extort more kitty treats; yet he looks authentically disgusted. He eats ALL the rejected food and treats after he's extracted the quantity he wants.

People who question the intelligence of cats, beware!

I think my cat is pretty smart, and at 13 he's still learning new things all the time.

I may have posted about this already, but there was a study of cat and dog people in 2014. Researchers found that cat people tended to test higher for intelligence, while dog people tested higher for friendliness.

Dedicated cat person here. I don't know about intelligence, but I've certainly never been the life of the party. Pretty grumpy, actually. I think those researchers may be onto something.
At 14, my cat has acquired endlessly amazing skills for wrapping me around her finger. Or toe?

Same with me.

Retro-Grouch, I think you and I would get along just fine.

Each of us with a good cat to even us out - because, God knows, I'm not grumpy with Joey!
(I've told him a number of times that he is lucky that I forgive him almost as fast as he forgets that he's been naughty.)

good cat
he looks like Norwegian forest cat

I don't know what he is; he was a homeless cat I took in nearly 6 years ago after he came up to me one night, skin and boned starved. I gave him some meat and he started hanging around and wanting in the house. After I took him to a vet to be treated for his massive flea infestation, an infected eye, and the tapeworms that the vet found, he moved in. So I don't know much about his history or even his age. The vet thought he was around 3 years old when I first took him in, so he is close to 9 now. I later found out he had belonged to some drug addicts in the trailer park across the road from my house.

This is how he looked back then:

Just opened the door let Sneaky in, and found him sitting on the doorstep next to ANOTHER dead mouse! Two days in a row, he has left a mouse! He slept all day on his chair in the living room, before going out to hunt.
