Congrats, Bill :D

Looks like you snagged a nice user at a great price. Let us know what you think when you get it in your hands. I love hearing about good deals on the big auction site and I'm hoping yours is a keeper.

Best,
Will

Good job Bill.
This very same seller just sold a late Nikon M with red Synch Posts in rough shape for $455!! In that case I was the one who got sniped!;)
Seller also sold a rough Nikon SP for $705.20

Looks like he is dumping his Nikon collection on the 'bay---> check out seller's other items:

Bill I think you bought the lens that probably came with the SP

And now for the rest of the story.

I got the Black 50/1.4 Friday night in the mail. She is in much better condition than I thought from the photos. I got a few seconds this afternoon to shoot some test shots (compare her to the 50/1.4 chrome).

When the seller went to pack the lens up he heard a rattle and sent me an email saying I could have it for a reduced price, cancel the sale or substitute a chrome lens in better condition. About a half hour later I got this note:

....I took a look at the lens and ound that the rattle was coming from the front lens pack. I tightened the retainer a fraction and is all better. So my offer still stands to sell you this one for the reduced price, which now I know what is going on would be my reccomendation, but the other options are certainly available to you. Let me know...

I opted for the black one for $45.00 including shipping!

I'm hoping she is in good shape, I've run a few shots through her today and a few more tomorrow to finish the roll and then to Costco for souping, print and a CD. This is the second best thing that has ever happened to me on ebay (a free black Nikon F2 Photomic is still the top).

Now on to a S3 or SP!
