Snow Day

What??? No Cell Service??? THE HORROR!!! What will a young whippersnapper like yourself DO? You'll have to exist (it's not living, right?) as your parents did before you... 'cept for the power to your PC, your internet connection, etc. But at least you've got a stick. Luxury. 😀 😛
I don't know what it was, but there was something odd about our storm yesterday.. maybe it was just that we haven't had one like that for so long that we forgot what winters are supposed to be.. having my cell provider go dead wouldn't have bothered me, except I knew other people using the same provider who were getting at least sporatic service.. so why was mine completely unusable?

then, to make matters worse, my landline and DSL went completely out at 8pm last night.. my communications with the outside world were completely cut off.. for an internet junkie, that's a serious problem

but my real issue was that I had promised my coworker that I would bring her back to work this morning if she needed a ride.. she said she'd call me to let me know, but there was no way for her to get a hold of me.. not with two phone numbers or email.. my sense of responsibility forced me to drive to my parents house last night and call her from their phone

as of this morning, the cell phone is working perfectly fine, but home phone and DSL are still out.. I might end up hanging out at a wifi-equipped coffee shop this weekend

Brett: We expect major C&C shots!

Seriously, I wish we had a major snowstorm here. We've got high winds overnight and this morning (which very sadly caused one death when a large tree landed on a car, killing the driver), but we have had a virtually snow-less, storm-less winter.

The only thing my snow tires on the CR-V are doing is wearing rubber and generating higher road noise volume. C'mon snow, I wanna head to Tim's for a morning!

We're under serious weather condition warning... and outside the sun is shining so hard when I take a metering it says I should set the shutterspeed at 1/500 and the aperture at f16.

Of course, that's with ISO 400 film! 🙂

Good luck, Brett! We had our share of snow two weeks ago! And, by the looks of it, we'll get more wind and cold than Schnee... 🙄

great 'pen'manship, RJ!

Francisco, same thing here.. it's the clearest day we've had in a month.. I either need 800 speed film for outdoor shots lately, or 100 speed to handle the glare off the snow

Hey Brett,

Here's the 'tool' for making your own yellow snow. http://www.panlogic.net/yellowsnow/peeindex.html
(I did a screen capture instead of sending it by email.)
