So Alive

Finally, after a few days of drum roll, my special pictures are available online! I spent some time last night with the girls selecting the pictures that would go online and found some time tonight to build the galleries.

I finally decided not to post them on RFF for two main reasons. 1) the material can definitely offend some folks and I don't want that kind of trouble here. 2) If I ever have to take some of that stuff off the Web, it'll be easier if it's only in two places (my site and the club's site). They are on my site.

So, what are the pictures about? It's the coverage of a short show produced by some friends that was presented during a fetish night in a nice cabaret (downtown Montreal). The first part is backstage with the girls dressing up. The second part is on stage. It's the story of three dolls. Two are playing together when one notices a big box coming from Japan. The box contains a new doll (white dress). The blue dressed doll abandons her black dressed doll in favor of the white one. When the black dressed doll gets jealous, things turn ugly and some generous spanking is provided. The gallery is called "ClubSin 2005-06-03".

There was another shoot that night after the bar closed. Some friends invited me for a little night cap. The only shot I can show is in the "So Alive" gallery (named after the song by Love and Rockets.

Visit both galleries at my site (link in signature). Don't forget to read the warning before entering the galleries...

interesting. Was this the shoot you were testing for earlier (the tests in the bar)? If so, you got some great exposures with the available light. You make good use of blurred motion, too. Good work!

I second Ray's comment. You have a gift for working in available light. It's great that the subjects were quite willing to be photgraphed, too. Very nice.

Thanks for the comments. The tests in the bar were mostly for this project. I knew the conditions would be pretty ectreme and I really had to figure it out first.

The backstage shots were taken with Neopan 1600. I used my handheld meter (Minolta Auto Meter IV) and took readings all over the room. F/4 @ 1/30 was the average and that's what used most of time there. I compensated a bit according to my guess-o-meter depending on the angle (facing lights or not, etc.).

The stage shots were taken with Ilford Delta 3200 (EI 6400). I was in the club before the doors opened and the technician was kind enough to give the actual stage lighting. So I was able to walk around the stage to take readings. It was perfectly even at f/4 and 1/30 for EI 6400. I compensated once or twice when I felt it would be necessary.

I've ordered some Diafine last week. I think it'll be a perfect match to my kind of shooting and will solve the small problems I have to live with (extreme contrast and unpredictable exposures). We'll see...
