Finally! Granted not quite the way or with the camera I had intended. This weekend I was visiting my folks out in Amagansett NY and there is a small camera shop called Reeds. Well, I was droppig off a roll of XP2 and they have a small used section. First thing to catch my eye was a knob winding canon rangefinder circa mid 50's from what he told me. Now Im not even an amature when it comes to canon RF's but the asking price of $390 with a 2.8 28 was to steep for me at the moment. As I was passing the second counter however an A35F caught my eye. He said $10 when I asked the price. "Sold" I said. He threw some new batteries in and I took the free roll of fim as the incentive for droping my film off instead of free doubles, which I got anyway for free 🙂.

So far this little RF has been fun to play with. Shot the one roll and the meter is on target, the flash is broken 🙁 but thats ok, Ill only use it outdoors 😉, and the lens is sharp. Ill have a good time playing with this for a little while, but I feel this is only going to accelerate my need for a RF with more control :bang:.

Oh I am in so much trouble....I wonder how much my 1N and the grip will fetch me?

Welcome Dan! I think you'll like it here at RFF. Unfortunately, your 1n probably won't fetch nearly what it should. It is pretty common to see them going for under $300 on the bay. I have a pair of 1n bodies with the booster drives. I doubt that I will ever sell them because I probably wouldn't be able to bear seeing them go for so little. Plus, they are great cameras and, as much as I love rangefinders, I still believe that SLRs have their uses (dive for cover 😀 ). Enjoy the forum.

I was thinking the same thing, Joe!

PS: Go through the used case very carefully. There may be more buried treasure in there.

No need to dive for cover. You are totally correct!

Thanks everyone. Ill be heading back in about two weeks time. Ill go take a look again. He had some knock off russian made leica's as well, gold plated even 😉 LOL.

As for the 1N, I love it, and I agree with you that it does have its place. I fear though that it will never get used though, but if that is all they are worth now, that makes me cry a little. Maybe Ill just hang onto it for the sake of a future camera collection 🙂.

Oh, I some how popped the flash up on the A35 and this time it readied to fire and did work. I guess its a little flakey. Can't wait to get this roll of XP2 done.
Ill also sahre if anything comes of my next visit out to the store 🙂.

Thanks again for the welcome🙂
