I opened the package and it's pristine...glass, anyway. The chrome of the lens is just as I like it: well used. I'm going to have lots of fun with this.
The only problem I'm having is that the focus and aperture seem to be a bit stuck...I know that it wouldn't be because of Brian, BTW: I'm thinking it may be because it's most likely still below zero here this morning!

The lens has warmed up nicely enough...and my boyfriend and I are going to do *something* worthwhile today. So yeah. I'll probably use all of the roll that I have in the camera on shots of snowy street scenes. Shot at F/22. Too much glare otherwise.

Coated Sonnar's usually do not flare. The lens is single coated, but with so few air/glass surfaces of the Sonnar design, it's about the same as a fast Planar with multicoating.
The chrome looked stained. When the lens arrived, it has a lot of old grease on some of the chrome. Cleaned up pretty-well. The focus was good on this one, but someone had way-overtightened the module. Putting F1.5 back to the index mark seemed to be all it required.
Test it, post results.

You guys will get to see a whole roll of what snow we actually got...you'll just have to wait until Monday to see it possibly. Boyfriend's birthday weekend and all and I haven't given him his present yet. :angel:
