film versus digital
maybe tomorrow i will go out looking, instead...
We need a more global thread.. like, what's the best thing to eat or drink before loading your camera..
And then jump on anyone who brings up peanut butter and jelly..

No, but I'm vegetarian and if you eat Meat before loading a Leica all your pictures will be covered in Guilt! Guilt I say!! Now PB&J is different...

Hey, I like film. I like digital. I like ice cream. Move along now, not much to see here...

I hope I haven't been too negative, I have never been happier with photography (and with the other parts of my life). I have the resources to buy what I want and I have a ton of information to draw from; the Internet (I wish it was around 40 years ago), Ebay, and Amazon for my photo library.

We should be able to argue over this, given some time..
Are we talking Bar-B-Q? or just meat? There is no guilt with Bar-B-Q as I recall from my Zone System class circa 67.

Well, I shutter to to think about whether you are too negative.
Amazon? What, the used book store can't teach you anything...

And, one final thought. Can one speak about negativity when one shoots slides when one is shooting film?
Well, maybe AFTER I shoot that roll of XP2 in the fridge...

It all starts in Negativity, even in the world of the positive. The trip through the reversal bath changed my Life. Can I get an Amen.

Without Negativity what would the electrons do? Nothing would work. We wouldn't be here.. back to PB+J and Bar-B-Q

Real Men Shoot Film.
I have a friend who just finished his masters degree in Philosophy. He maintains that hope is the enemy of progress and achievement, because when one feels hopeful of success, one no longer has an incentive to try. So there, negativity is a good thing.

Conflicting opinions, is what keeps the world alive. As for the negtivity, i think it is not necessary - it is better to argue what is superior, rather than ridicule something which is inferior, after all, most of final effect in photography is highly subjective anyway... I took this photo with an M7 on Tri X and with a v3 Summicron, this is why you will oberve the HIGHLY PLEASED expression of the dog...

Too funny and very true.
I was in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago and I approached two men carrying Leicas to comment on my appreciation for rangefinders. Being I just got off the beach, I had my Leica up in the hotel safe.
During the course of the conversation one of the men asked where my camera was. I grab from my makeshift anti-sand grocery plastic bag my Holga. They chuckle, laugh, do a double take and then flash a look of concern.
Shoot to shoot with what you've got with you.
We're all photographers here aren't we?

Well if your batteries a lot of negativity, it would mean that they had a lot of electrons that hadn't traveled to the positive pole, meaning they would be fresh and that's a good thing.. no?

Yeah, Joe, I'm awfully negative. In fact, the last time I loaded a camera with slide film was...

Sorry joe, it's just how it is ... the grim realisation that experience proves hope to be a deception, and any who hold it to be fools, the final victory of cynicism that eventually crushes the spirit of all men in their dotage ... that time when the only point of a positive attitude is to annoy enough people to make it worth the effort ...
