Hello all!
I took the plunge and bought a minty Epson R-D1 the other night on yahoo auctions (I live in Japan). Expecting to receive it tomorrow. I bought a Bessa R last week for peanuts to get a feel for the R-D1 and liked it enough that I'm going to keep it too.
I love shooting with rangefinders, and I like film too but for color photos film processing is just too expensive for me to be able to justify it, and the chemicals to do it myself are not easily available (Otherwise I'd do it). So I took the plunge on the R-D1.
I'm very much looking forward to going out and shooting around Shibuya and Shinjuku in the near future with my R-D1. So far I have an Industar-26M 50mm 2.8 and a Skopar 35mm 2.5 LTM plus the necessary adapter. I suspect it will make a great companion to my other favorite camera, the Ricoh GRD III.
Don't expect any great photos from me though, I suck at photography. I just do it because it's fun.
