So who else is on RFF while they shouldn't be?

I'm sitting in class, but the professor is lecturing on stuff I learned in high school. Anyone else in class, working or perhaps just avoiding family and friends while they're browsing RFF?

I am logged in all day at work.

I normally flip over to see what is going on while I am on the phone.

I think I should be paying attention to whomever I am speaking to, but they don't interest me.

I am often logged in...

I am at work right now.

I am under enormous pressure from the studios, so RFF is a place where I can exhale between bouts of yelling and insanity at the agency, here. When I can't focus, I wander around here for a bit, then back to work!

I have been here every day for the past 2 weeks. Been on the last of 2 week notice before starting a new job. bored bored bored ...

I spent the majority of my sister's 21st birthday on RFF :D - she had friends over. To be fair my time was split between RFF and playing Duke Nukem on the dos-laptop

Everyday for the last two weeks I've had to make measurements over 2 min. intervals. Luckily, the computer I'm using has internet access and it's been great checking out everyone's galleries. I've liked seeing the wide array of stuff photographed with rangefinders. RFF helped me remain sane during this period, but 'occasionally' I got distracted and measurements occured over 5 min. Oops.

I'm currently writing fellowship applications and frankly, you can only make yourself sound like god's gift to mankind so many times. Especially if you know it not to be true! (hm is that a visual pun?)

On the other hand, I did promise myself that if I get a fellowship, there is some level of certainty in my academic career (oxymoron or what?!) and I can go and spend money (a lot of money) on a wishlist camera. That should be a good incentive, surely. And, if a year from now, you see me asking what colour leather would look good on an a-la-carte Leica, congratulate me. And prevent me from going for venomous green.

Cheers,

Doctor Zero
(or just Mark)

P.S. MikeL: I can sympathise! I used to do that sort of thing too (it still happens, actually). The worst times were a few years back, where my all-time record of something like 196 samples were measured in a long working day. Ugh.

I'm at work. Waiting for the vacuum to go down to at least 10-6 mbar. Takes an hour more, so...browsingtime!:D

RFF is one of the websites that is blocked at work. Trying to access any website with the word 'forum' in the URL will get me an 'access denied' message. To read content from RFF, I must google whatever I'm looking for with 'site:www.rangefinderforum.com' as an option and then I read the pages in Google's cache.

We're being asked to "out" ourselves? (Didn't something like this happen in China some decades ago?)
