probably few better ways to show off your work digitally in coffee shops
I have the Samsung, and haven't missed anything from my windows 7 or Macbook Air, or linux desktops yet.
Then again, it's only been about 18 hrs. with the Chromebook so far, and is not the pixel, but the cheap Samsung 11" one.

I am looking at the $249 Samsung. At the price point of the Pixel, I'd get a MacBook Air. Chromebooks make sense at $200 to $300, but at $1k plus? Not interested.

Keep in mind that the Pixel's ridiculous screen resolution gives you over 3 times more screen real estate than the highest resolution MacBook Air - the display is the selling point.
Invested in too many Mac apps for the Pixel to make sense, but it's nice to have competition.

happy mac air user here, but always been google fan(boy), so nice to see chrome concept going forward.
read a review about it recently, not very good for working with photos, Mac/Win OS's offers better editing tools and more space. but chrome is better than just a tablet, ability to backup is good to have on road (more in link above).

It costs too much for the screen to be the only selling point. It's running a web browser...

Exactly why I think anything more expensive than the Samsung version would be a waste, like buying a 185mph car when you live in an area with a 35mph speed limit...

methinks chrome browser is the best there is, and have been so for past couple years. integration with all google services is simply brilliant no other maker has come close. but using it as sole interface for everything does not work personally, image editing comes to mind first.

Yeah you will need a magnifying glass to read the screen...
