All my Optons have Bubbles also the CZJ Biotar 1.5/75. They seem to have no effect on IQ and simply show authenticity. I think Bubbles are to expected from most Zeiss lenses of the era. Congrats again. Sounds like you scored a nice deal.

My repairman, who used to work at Zeiss in the '60s, told me just yesterday that people are usually very fussy about small particles of dust between the lenses, while old lenses almost always had a couple small bubbles inside and nobody complained about their quality. So I guess there's nothing wrong with yours.

Well, after finally getting Amedeo's adapter and testing this lens on the R-D1, I now know why I got it so cheaply. Focus at the closest distance is perfect, but infinity is way, way, way off. In fact, when I focus on something about thirty feet away, things that are about 12 feet away are in focus. Never had this problem with a lens before.
It isn't the adapter's fault--it focuses the Helios-103 perfectly! Any ideas, all?
BTW I will put up a thread about the adapter later.
