Recently I was gifted a Sofort 2.😇
Interestingly I have had almost zero experience with Instant Film. The past two weeks have been a busy time as I have been getting to the the camera and the film!
I am quite impressed with Sofort 2 and I am barely scratching the surface of the possibilities with this camera.
My first discovery:
One of my first ever Instax Mini images:
(Copied with iPhone 13, handheld)

The same image (digital) stored on a micro SD card in camera:

The final image is 24.7 mp after going through LR and Photoshop, my usual film protocol.👍👍👍

It seems to be an interesting camera for the lovers of Istant Photography. I have not seen many info about it in internet, even on LUF.
I'll look into your adventure with interest.
PS: I do not suffer GAS, I do not suffer GAS, I do not...🙂

Leica Sofort 2 Review: Elevating the Instant Camera
Leica's Sofort 2 is the definitive instant camera with its digital hybrid model, but is it worth the steep cost?

It’s the same camera as the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo which I have quite enjoyed. In reality it’s a low-end cellphone camera with a built in printer. In practice it produces very nice results and is a lot of fun to use!

Does it take Instax film?

Oh, how I wish I had a good scanner. Perhaps an Epson V600/800?
The Instax prints are really nice.🙂
But, maybe one day I will get a decent scanner, so for now, here is one of my first trial images in low-light (before Sunrise) and a crappy iPhone snap. The print looks really nice. The copy as shown here has a lot of reflections and being handheld, it is not sharp.

This works beautifully for me exactly as it is. Not everything has to look like one of Ansel's prints, nor should it!Oh, how I wish I had a good scanner. Perhaps an Epson V600/800?

Thanks 😊 , it is just hit or miss trying to photocopy the Instax prints by hand. But a decent scanner would make life easier for me.😂
Tbh, I never expected much from instant film photography, now I am impressed and will be using it a lot. This is so cool!👍
It even makes me long for a refurbished SX-70. LOL

Another informative review of the Sofort 2 by the Red Dot Forum:

Leica Sofort 2: Hybrid Instant Camera | Red Dot Forum
Today, Leica has announced the Sofort 2, a hybrid instant compact camera. Combining digital capture and analog output, the Leica Sofort 2 offers the fun and spontaneous aesthetic of the original Sofort introduced in 2016, but with far more more flexibility. The camera can take an image and print...

After shooting several packs of Instax color film, I have learned a lot. Printing quality is good if you have enough light. One can adjust the brightness of the prints by a factor of x 1.5, or x 2.0. Ihave not used the x2.0 feature yet.
But on a cloudy morning the brightness adjustment of x1.5 was needed:

I am unsure how Polaroid prints handle or react to low light images. Since I prefer moody images, low light shooting is what I do most.
I will be trying some more Instax prints straight out of the camera soon. If it were not so fun, I probably would not even bother.🙂

What I am wondering is what folks are doing with all their Instax mini prints. Is there a source for protective sheets that are sized for Instax mini prints?🤷🏼♂️

I read somewhere they are the right size to be glued in a Moleskine…

Yes, Printfile makes binder pages that will fit Instax Mini prints: 120-9HB Pages for Negatives or Collectable Cards • Print FileWhat I am wondering is what folks are doing with all their Instax mini prints. Is there a source for protective sheets that are sized for Instax mini prints?🤷🏼♂️
They’re the same size as 6x9 negatives, but Printfile specifically calls out Instax Mini in their description.

I have a wall-mounted hanging arrangement - two vertical strips of wood with five pieces of string between them, and the prints clip onto the strings with small clothes pegs. That gives me space for 30 Instax (mini or wide) prints that I can rotate out every so often. What I am wondering is what folks are doing with all their Instax mini prints. Right now one string is devoted to my old cat who died back in January, for instance.
