hi,
the shutter release on my QL17 seems to go aaaaaallllllll... the way down before it fires. This is a real drag and sometimes causes a little shake when handholding. I've thought of picking up one of those 'soft shutter release' buttons to compensate for it but have read somewhere that they don't screw in properly to the QL17's shutter button. Does anyone have any experience with these things on their canonets?
Thanks,
David.

I have the Mini Soft Release available from CamerQuest.com
I do use it on my Canonet GIII QL-17 - it gets the job done but it definitely doesn't fit in all the way. It only screws in about half way, and actually sticks up a little higher than I would like...

Thanks Sockdaddy, that's what i had read. I have thought of cannablizing an old cable relese and making my own. I know some use the hard drive screws with a button on top but it feels like it's going to damage the start of the thread on the button. See what happens I guess..
Thanks,
David.

If you're interested, I will try to take an up-close pic of the release threaded as far as it will go into the Canonet...
