For your viewing pleasure, or not: A set of photos taken with my Bessa-R and an Industar-61 L/D f/2,8 55mm lens. Most of the photos are of two ancient trucks, parked at the Distillery District (Toronto).

Here for comparison is a small set taken with a Kiev and Helios-103 lens that has a focusing issue:

And finally, here are the same trucks (mostly) taken with a Soligor 21mm lens on an old Nikkormat SLR:

Thanks. I'm excited by the prospect of using the CV 2,5 35mm Skopar Classic that is on its way.

Do you really think the normal progression of the disease (leading to eventual acquisition of an M-series Leica) can be interdicted by rational argument?

Very nice, Dan! You don't get much increase in quality (if any) from the major increase in cost of a Leica setup!

Progression or an Appreciation of the finer qualities?

A nice group of old-timers, but they appear to be parked near a central business district. The red truck would get kudos as daily driver here. The expression of the attendant at the State Inspection station would be priceless.

If there is a progression towards an M-mount body, it has more to do with an appreciation of its finer qualities, such as automatic framelines.

I have a Bessa R and the epithamy that I had was to go retro with a couple of Leica screw mounts and two Ruskies!

Neat pictures, #11 is my favorite. Vehicles can be a challenge to shoot at the 50 mm focal length. You did well, IMO. I also like the Superia 200 film -- the colors & contrast are punchy -- but I don't like the way it scans (it's probably just my lab, though).

There's an I-61 L/D on its way to me right now; after seeing your photos I'm even more excited to receive it. 50 is my favorite focal length. I've got four now: I-26m, J8, Summitar f/2 and the I-61. It's hard to find time to use them all!

😀 As you can see from my avatar, I love old trucks and cars. I just shot a role of 120 with a Moskva 5, 6x9, and should have the results back tomorrow. I liked the entire series. Do go back with some b&w, Ilford FR4 125 rating and you'll surprise yourself.

I have a roll of Delta something or other somewhere in the fridge. Maybe I'll try that. Its my ham handed developing that's the big risk.
