Some CV new products for 2008?

a full frame digital rangefinder with a viewfinder that can zoom to 5x for super precise focusing all for $999. also a 35/0.75, and a non-fish eye 6mm 5.6

There should be several new lenses for 2008.
Mostly screw mount versions will be changed to M-mount.
Expect the 28/1,9 and 35/1,7 to become M mount.

Maybe a 50/F0,95?
Something similar to Noct?
Perhaps a new and improved version of 35/1,2?

Perhaps, maybe Epson will re-enter the RF game?
A 12mp RD2?
Fat chance . . . . .

If there was a purely mechanical Zeiss Ikon,
I will surely buy one.

If we look at the discontinued LTM lenses my guess is that they are all scheduled to be replaced by M mount versions :
- 28/1.9 Ultron
- 35/1.7 Ultron
- 50/2.5 Skopar

There are currently no equivalent to these lenses in M mount.

Personally I'd like to see a new medium-fast 35mm and a new std 50mm 🙂

I think that Sean Reid (of Reid Reviews) makes a good point about CV switching their lenses from LTM to M mount:

If you buy a LTM lens, you can buy a coded adaptor for use on the Leica M8. If you buy an M-mount lens, you have to have to send it away to be coded, which is much more of a hassle. Any thoughts about this?

"A shutter that doesn't sound like a coffee grinder"? Kinda harsh. It doesn't bother me. More bothersome is the short effective baselength of the rangefinder.

Me, I think a folding rangefinder with 50/2 Heliar would be great. Something along the lines of a Vito III. Even better would be the same camera and lens in 6x6 format. But I'm sure we won't get either.

not sure if it's possible but...
how about a body with 15/28/50/75 framelines

You'd end up zone focusing the 50 and 75 on that finder, especially with the current 37mm baselength chassis.

Yes indeed. I know for a fact Mr. K has lots of new Voigtlander products planned for 2008.

But like Orson Wells and those old wine commercials (what wine was that anyway? ),

no wine, ehhh no Voigtlander annoucements, before their time.

What if you went along those lines and had a finder with frame lines for say a 15, 18, 21, 25 and 28 but no rangefinder? Just a switch to bring up frame lines. All of them you can zone/hyperfocal/guess focus well enough.

Make it M mount and call is the L2A and L2M, make sure it takes a winder.

He would sell several thousand of them!

I'm hoping we will see some new CV SLII Lenses this year, that's more of what I'm lusting for at this point.
