Wow, this is an amazing set - very inspired work. This should be resurrected at least once each year! Like an exhibit.
I agree.
Just beautiful work...

Worthy of a photobook! Worthy of NatGeo too!

Great pics. I always, well generally speaking, take one of my GSN, GS or MG-1 cameras with me when traveling into Siberia, Russia proper or Ukraine. By looking at my posted shots, I can tell which ones were taken on one of my Yashicas.

Incredible that I seem to have missed this thread the first time and during its previous reincarnations.
Stunning photos. Of course that isn't a surprise from Avotius.

I remember this thread from long ago but when I looked at the photos I was still amazed at how good they are.

I'm feeling guilty about wanting to sell my GSN now.
Not that I could match the photographs in this thread.

All these Yashicas make excellent images. The lenses are terrific.

The images in this thread are truly remarkable. Oddly, the one camera I own that I could never get along with is my Yashica GSN. I shot two rolls through it, couldn't handle its size and clunkiness, and haven't touched it since.

The best camera is one that still works!
Wow ... I just checked the date when this thread was posted by Avotius, who's life has changed significantly incidentally. He's now a dad and living in China to my knowledge.
This thread was the sole reason I bought a Yashica and I'm so glad it resurfaces every now and then to remind us that beautiful images can be had from the most humble of cameras.
I salute you Colin and hope you're life is currently full and happy.

You couldn't ask for anything much better. Three cheers for the plain old Yashicas. You probably just boosted up the going price on the GSN series!

Awesome series, every photo is a winner. GSN lenses are special!
Continue to post so we can enjoy them also.

Excellent photography, by a very capable photographer.
The GSN is a very nice rangefinder film camera, and it played its part in these photographs, too. I just wish that I could get similar results from mine...!
